Asphalt Paving
Asphalt pavement is the preferable choice for most any roadway, driveway or parking lot project. Its benefits, with Advanced Asphalts professional preparation and installation offer superior durability, longer life and less long term maintenance than other pavement alternatives. Asphalt is also the most commonly recycled material in the United States.
Advanced Asphalt established ourselves as one of the top paving companies in Northern California and Nevada. From driveways, subdivisions, commercial parking lots, city streets to the world’s largest industrial center Advanced Asphalt can meet all your excavating, grading and paving needs.

Asphalt Repair & Maintenance
With aging, heavy loads, and neglect asphalt paving becomes susceptible to defects that, without maintenance or repair, can lead to complete failure. Intensified by today’s increasing budget constraints requiring state and local agencies to perform more work with less money, the need for a pavement management plan involving routine inspections and ongoing preventative maintenance is essential for asphalt pavement service life. Advanced Asphalt has three types of pavement maintenance operations.
Preventive Maintenance: Performed to improve or extend the functional life of a pavement. It is a strategy of surface treatments and operations intended to retard progressive failures and reduce the need for routine maintenance and service activities.
Corrective Maintenance: Performed after a deficiency occurs in the pavement, such as loss of friction, moderate to severe rutting, extensive cracking or potholes. May also be referred to as “reactive” maintenance.
Emergency Maintenance: Performed during an emergency situation, such as a blowout or severe pothole that needs repair immediately. This also describes temporary treatments designed to hold the surface together until more permanent repairs can be performed.
Many pavement treatments can be used for preventive, corrective, or emergency maintenance and Advanced Asphalt has all the necessary equipment and crews to handle jobs from driveways to highways. Listed below are Advanced Asphalts primary repair and maintenance techniques and with all our pavement maintenance operations, whether maintenance operations must be completed under traffic or with lane closures, traffic control and safety on site is our priority. to edit.

Patching and Repair
Failing areas of a parking lot, road or driveway need to be repaired to prevent further deterioration and base erosion. This will extend the service life of the pavement, postponing the need for complete removal and replacement. Several options are available to repair failed areas, including full depth repair, partial depth repair, and surface patching. Advanced Asphalts estimators will provide the best repair solution that meets your budgetary requirements. Asphalt Overlay Advanced Asphalt’s overlays not only provide a new pavement surface for a fraction of the cost of rebuilding, but is the only maintenance technique that adds structural integrity while helping to extend a pavement's service life. Overlays are often combined with options such as milling (grinding) and the addition of geotextile fabric and should not be confused with seal coating, which merely involves spraying a protective product on the surface of the asphalt. A free resurfacing inspection to ensure base stability, structural condition of existing pavement, elevation capacity and drainage can be scheduled by contacting Advanced Asphalt. Pulverizing (FDR) Because of its popularity based on the recycling effort, cost savings and structural stability of pulverization you may hear many different titles for the same process. In Place Recycling (IPR), Full depth reclamation (FDR), Asphalt Pavement Recycling (APR) and Pulverizing are all pulverization of the existing asphalt concrete and blending it with the underlying material to form a higher-quality aggregate base. Full depth road reconstruction is done with pulverizing equipment that has the power to grind through the existing pavement and base material to a controlled depth, blend the materials together and put them back in place in a single pass. The resulting structural base produced meets or exceeds city, county, state and federal agencies as a direct substitute for spec-grade aggregates. Pulverization also allows for improvement to the grade for new pavement and significantly reduces transport (trucking) cost to and from the project location. Cold Milling Cold Milling (Cold Planing) typically removes 1.5" to 2.5" of failing surface asphalt in Partial Cold Milling or up to 16” in full depth cold milling allowing for the application of a hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlay while preserving secondary structures and base section (e.g. curb, gutter, utility access and aggregate base). Cold milling also allows improvements to the grade and surface of the pavement. Advanced Asphalt utilizes milling (planing) equipment with conveyor system for quick loading and transport of grindings which are fully recycled at our asphalt plants or other jobs requiring base material. Removal and Replacement Over time, even well maintained pavement can deteriorate. Cracks pot holes and weakening repairs allow water to penetrate the sub-grade below the asphalt and the pavement and base sections break down beyond restoration. In these cases, asphalt removal and replacement is often required. |
